Ayesha Asif, 'Our Hijrah' Team

Ayesha Asif is a communications consultant working with the ‘Our Hijrah’ project as a researcher and an interviewer.  She completed her postgraduate studies in Communication from Auckland University of Technology and won the Global Communication Project award in 2018.

Her experience of working with diverse cultural backgrounds aids in contributing to the Our Hijrah project’s needs in appreciating religious and cultural sensitivity, as the team gathers stories around the contribution of Muslim women to Aotearoa New Zealand.  Ayesha is passionate about advocating for mental health awareness and effectively communicating change for sustainability and social development for all.
